Gary is an award-winning filmmaker with over 100 feature film and television episodes to his credit. His unique directing style can be found in such films as BOOGEYMAN 3 (for Ghost House/Sony), SPIDERS, BALLISTICA, AXE GIANT: THE WRATH OF PAUL BUNYAN, GHOULS, CROCODILE 2: DEATH SWAMP, and the SyFy original film, LIGHTNING STRIKES. Gary has written and co-written four feature films including ESCAPE FROM DEATH BLOCK 13, AXE GIANT: THE WRATH OF PAUL BUNYAN (which he also produced and directed), and his directorial feature film debut, MOSQUITO. Along with creating the story, co-writing the screenplay, and directing, Gary supervised the film‘s many special effects. Over the years, MOSQUITO has amassed a cult following and is one of the most pirated films on the Internet. 

 

Gary’s television work includes directing the popular TV shows “Xena: Warrior Princess,” “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,” “Sheena: The Jungle Queen,” and “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.”  His second unit directing credits include “Living Hell,” “Undead or Alive: A Zombedy,” “Spy Game: The TV Series,” “Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys,” and the SyFy original films starring Bruce Campbell “Man With The Screaming Brain” and “Alien Apocalypse.” Gary’s other producing credits include WARPATH, MOONTRAP: TARGET EARTH, THE DEAD MATTER, Robert Kurtzman’s THE RAGE, and executive producer of DEATH KISS. Starting his film career in special effects, Gary worked on such films as “EVIL DEAD 2,” ARMY OF DARKNESS,” “HARD TARGET,” “SPAWN,” and “DUSK TILL DAWN” before transitioning into the director‘s chair.

 

As a visual effects artist and graphic designer, Jones's creative work has enhanced many films for The Hallmark Channel, Lifetime Channel, IonTV, SY FY as well as his own films ESCAPE FROM DEATH BLOCK 13 and AXE GIANT.  Jones starting his career creating special effects, props and make-up effects for such films as, ARMY OF DARKNESS, EVIL DEAD 2, HARD TARGET, SPAWN, DUSK TILL DAWN, ALIEN APOCALYPSE and the sci fi film MOONTRAP, which received the "best special effects" award from the Huston Film Festival.  Working outside of film production, Jones's artwork and graphics can be found on countless movie posters, websites, haunted attraction promotions and billboards.
